When entering New Era Furnishers world, you will find a highly sophisticated company that manufactures a range of contemporary furniture, both for private homes and trendy offices; designer furnishing and marvelous home accessories. That’s not all. The company has a number of turnkey projects to its credit and excels in the art of interior designing.
The genesis of this creativity can be traced back to 1927 when an exceptionally talented man, residing in the Lahore of combined subcontinent before partition, named Mian Mirajdin stepped into furniture manufacturing. Itwas a transitory period. The European trends and living style eclipsed every aspect of local peoples’ lives; it applied to the furniture being used at home. The drawing rooms had floor-seating arrangement (chandni–white spreadsheet covering the floor) with bolster (gao takiye) and large pillows. Gradually the ethnic furniture of the mughal era like cushioned platform (diwan), delightfully designed low-stools (peerhi) and the intricately carvedmassive wooden beds were replaced with western style sofas, chairs, tables, mattresses, etc. Soon after his son Mian Muhammad Amin joined his father’s business. Anticipating the future course of furniture architecture, Mr. Muhammad Amin’s innovative spirit artistically blended the old with the new to create a unique look. Thus it was the germ of the idea that ultimately flowered into NEW ERA FURNISHERS. A short while before the partition of sub-continent, Mr. Muhammad Ameen spent some time in Delhi and made a mark here too with his classic designs and unmatched craftsmanship in the furniture manufacturing & style. After creation of Pakistan in 1947, he returned to Lahore. The new country and developing economy offered lucrative opportunities for growth. Mr. Muhammad Ameen expanded the business extending it to include the art of interior designing and office furnishing. He had been involved in the renovation and interior designing of big famous buildings and government houses such as Governor Houses and Assembly Halls before partition. His unique and exclusively designed furniture and the skill to come up with modern office systems gains wide appreciation. Multinational companies such as BATA sought his services to carry out the corporate interiors and furnishing of their firms. At present his industrious and enterprising sons continue to maintain the standards set by their father. Product quality and design combined with efficient customer service are the values on which the entire company system in based. From design point of view, New Era Furnishers’ line of furniture combines elegance and purity of form with mastery craftsmanship.

MUHAMMAD JAHANGIR

Mr. Muhammad Jahangir joined New Era Furnishers in Pakistan in 1960. He has more than thirty years of experience in the field of furnishing which includes furnishing of houses, public buildings, offices, factories etc. Also extends his services as the president of all Pakistan Furniture Manufactures Association. The affairs of the company are guided by a board of partners. The day-to-day functioning of the company is looked after by the partners and board of the management. New Era Furnishers has therefore formed classified groups of highly experienced persons assisted by highly trained & qualified workers for different departments. The biggest achievement of the company has perhaps been the creation of healthy competition amongst the profession dealing in furniture and furnishing.
MR. M. FAROOQ AMIN

Mr. Farooq Amin joined New Era Furnishers in 1980. He is the in charge of over all production of New Era Furnishers & assists of MR. Shafiq Ahmed in technical operations of the firm. He has to set up, purchase, own, lease, hire, install and operate for the company and for other data processing (Computer Records) based on any form of Mechanical, electronic or other developed, techniques, both in and outside of Pakistan for the purpose of processing Accounting, Technical, Statistical and other form of data required for compilation by any banking, insurance, other professional, engineering, technical, marketing, trading, commercial and industrial organization including research association as well as the ministers, department and agencies of Government including semiAutonomous Government bodies. He act as professional advisors, management consultants to individuals whether corporate or not, without any regard of their being inside or outside Pakistan in respect of systems analysis, programming activity and all other kinds of activity necessary for the successful operations of a computer installation.
